On the
occasion of Mother Language Day Levan Ghirsiashvili, the First Deputy Minister
of Education, Science and Youth and Mariam Kobiashvili, the Director of Zurab
Zhvania School of Public Administration held a meeting with beneficiaries,
graduates and local trainers in Marneuli Municipality.
Mariam
Kobiashvili congratulated the attendants on the Georgian Language Day and spoke
about the two main areas of the School’s activities focusing on the newly
developed courses within the State Language Teaching and Integration Program.
At the
meeting the First Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of facilitating teaching
Georgian language to the representatives of ethnic minorities and provided
information about the initiatives implemented by the Ministry, as well as
future plans aimed at promoting Georgian language.
The meeting
was conducted in a question-and-answer format giving beneficiaries the
opportunity to receive responses to the issues of interest and to express their
views.
At the end
of the meeting, Levan Ghirsiashvili and Mariam Kobiashvili awarded certificates
to the successful graduates of the School.
The activities
were aimed at supporting the integration of ethnic minorities and enhancing
their understanding of the history of the state language.
